My main goal when creating The Rise and Fall of F.A.N.G. was to parody 80s cartoon and comic villains. While the main lampoon is obviously Cobra, other snaked-related groups like Venom and Hydra were also on my mind.

I wanted F.A.N.G. to have a similar feel to the way 80s villains were set up; minions should pose absolutely no threat to any character, regardless of Archetype. Due to their lack of super-powers, even an Empath Defender should be able to handle them.

The Lts are equivalent to what would be named villains, but due to the size limitations in AE, as well as the way CoH works, the Lts are generic. In CoH, there is generally only one 'named' villain per map. I tried to hint at named 'Aces' existing in the organization in mission 2, with the Boomslang Ace, which makes the Lts closer to the special forces in Cobra. To that end, I wanted to make them very colorful and 'elemental themed', like the various Vipers.

The Lts each posses powers that should give most characters a challenge. F.A.N.G.Leader was created to be fairly bulky, but other than his Drones, his offense output is fairly low.

This arc was mostly made to balance the enemy group, but there's plenty of humor to be found, especially if you track down all the mission objectives in Mission 3 and read the corresponding clues.
